New Session Italian Language Courses

Beginning Italian I:

The new session of Beginning Italian will begin on Saturday, January 30 at 11:30 AM – 1:00 PM. Alaina and Heather will be co-teaching out of the textbook: Nuovo Progetto Italiano Iit would be helpful to have the textbook on the first day of class, although not required. All Beginning classes will be at 11:30 – 1:00 on Saturdays.

Beginning Italian I focuses on:

  • Basic conversation
  • Gendered nouns
  • Common vocabulary and basic adjectives
  • Colors, numbers, days, and months
  • Articles and prepositions
  • Regular and Irregular verb forms

Beginning Italian II:

Beginning Italian II will be for learners who have some background with the Italian language and would like to maintain those skills in a casual, classroom setting. This course session will be on Tuesdays, from 5:30-7:00 with Stefani and Anna. Nuovo Progetto Italiano I will be the textbook for the class.  The first class will be next Tuesday, February 2.  Come and continue your “viaggio italiano” with us!

Beginning Italian II topics:

  • Read and talk about simple topics
  • Use the present and present progressive tenses
  • Make requests using the imperative tense
  • Possessive Adjectives
  • Grammar Instruction
  • Continue basic conversation skills

Intermediate Italian:

Intermediate Italian classes will begin on Saturday, January 30 from 10:00 – 11:30 with Natasha. The textbook for this course is In viaggio: Moving Toward Fluency in Italian.  All classes will be on Saturdays from 10:00 – 11:30.

In this course we’ll be learning and reviewing how to:

  • Talk about and tells stories of the past
  • Give recommendations and express our opinions
  • Connecting words and related vocabulary words for chapter 3
  • Learn to talk about our passions, interests and passions of Italian culture
  • Other useful expressions for dialogue to use while agreeing or disagreeing with others

Italian Social Hour

All levels welcome.  Speak if you can, or simply practice listening. NOTE: This is an informal conversation hour, not an Italian language lesson.
